Thread: Is there a way to add some indicator when Mezzmo is loading and "not responding" msg.

Default Is there a way to add some indicator when Mezzmo is loading and "not responding" msg.

I've meant to ask you for this for a while but one of my own annoyances with Mezzmo is that as it loads, and despite the printed messages as it does, there is no real indicator showing the the progress of the program loading. There's no way to know that it is loading, and with a large database like mine, it could hang without my knowledge.

Of course this is only visible at the location where the program is loading but this is especially annoying at the end when Mezzmo has a text that reads "complete", and then you still have to wait for a while before the "console" shows up on screen. Initially, I would double load Mezzmo, as I thought it had crashed, and then, referring to the task manager, I would have to terminate the second running program as they would both "not respond".

On more than one occasion, the program has crashed, and the only way to check is to go to task manager and even then you can't be certain as the program as sends repeated "not responding" messages to the Windows System as it boots.

The start up screen also holds onto a rectangular portion of the background when you initially boot the program, and if you have rotating wallpaper like I do, the initial wallpaper surrounding the Mezzmo flash page stays until the console is up. This is not intentional, I sure, but it looks like the program is not operating properly.

Lastly, when Mezzmo seems to be indexing, the console flashes "not responding" at the top of the console window, which in my experience, used to mean the program was about to crash. As stated before, this is quite disconcerting, and obviously unintentional, but you don't really know if this is a precursor to a crash, or just an update of the database.

Either a progress bar, or rotating arrow, or anything would really help here, and with the program "boot".

Yep, at this point, this is probably my only complaint with Mezzmo.

Thanks for the feedback. We have had a few complaints about the load time for the latest version of Mezzmo (Windows) app (v5.0.5.0). We've spent some time analyzing this & have reduced the time taken quite a lot (it's about 50% faster). This improvement will be included in the next version of Mezzmo. We'll also consider some form of progress indicator.
