Thread: New TV new problems!

    Default New TV new problems!

I have had the pro version of Mezzmo for many years and recently returned to Europe from Asia. We changed from a Samsung to a JVC tv but I cannot find any profiles for JVC tv's, so we are using the Generic Device(PAL) profile.

However I am finding lots of problems. Despite the JVC being a brand new model and my Samsung being 4-5 years old, I cannot play many files on the JVC that I used to on the Samsung. Some .mkv and .mp4 files being the main culprits, both formats that the TV and Mezzmo should handle easily.

If I copy these same files on to a USB stick the TV will play them without a problem, so problem must be in the Mezzmo profile for my TV?

How can I get this working properly please?

The best thing to do is for us to create a new device profile for your TV. This will let us get Mezzmo working with your TV perfectly. Email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and provide the following:

    • The model number of your TV
    • The list of supported video formats, audio formats, image formats and subtitle formats that you TV supports. You may find thi sin your TV's manual or on JVC's product web site. The more information you can find, the better.
    • A set of Mezzmo logs. Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=using_logging). Restart your Mezzmo server. Connect to Mezzmo server from your TV and browse a few playlists/folders and play a few files. Stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app. Zip up all the logs and email them to us.

Once we get this information, we'll be able to email you a new device profile to try.
