Thread: Active Playlist giving wrong details to TV Shows.

  1. #1

Default Active Playlist giving wrong details to TV Shows.

I just created an active playlist Series/Season with certain text in the file path and it's giving the wrong metadata to the series.

"Ben 10: Ultimate Alien" is getting the "Orphan Black" image and description.

"Beware the Batman" is getting the "Peppa Pig" image and description.

"Coyboy Bebop" is getting the "Smallville" image and description.

"Doctor Who" is getting the "Supergirl" image and description.

And so on and so on...

Is there a way to fix this?

I'm trying transition between using "folders" and using playlists, but this is just getting ridiculous.

    Hi,
is this occurring in the Mezzmo application on the PC or on the device when you browse the playlist? If it is occurring in Mezzmo on the PC then it is possible that you have some database corruption occurring or some other issue, can you please send us your Mezzmo.db file so we can investigate? Go to Options in Mezzmo to find your Mezzmo database folder then open this folder in Windows explorer and stop your Mezzmo media server and exit Mezzmo. Then add the Mezzmo.db file to a zip file and upload it to a share site like dropbox and send us a download link to support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

    Hi Peter,

I'm experiencing this same problem with a particular TV series. It's very strange: For all 5 shows Mezzmo downloaded wrong title/description/type information - for a completely different show/series (much older but maybe same title), but 4 of the 5 shows had the correct image displayed. So Mezzmo seems to have downloaded a mix of correct and incorrect metadata. Especially the Title information was wrong as displayed in both Mezzmo (browsing library) and on my playback device. Last night in Mezzmo I changed the Display Titles settings for this folder to %FILENAME% for all video-related categories and then did a "Maintain Playlist" on this folder only. The titles displayed in Mezzmo were fixed right away, but in my playback device when I navigated back in from its home menu the titles displayed there were still wrong. I checked my playback device again this morning and it's still wrong. For example, the title info displayed in Mezzmo when I browse the library is: "Timeless S01E01 Pilot" for one of the files whereas on my playback device it is "E0001: Wrist Wrestling / Lama Kunga". Clearly Mezzmo is not handling the Display Titles settings for this folder correctly. What can I do?

    Hi,
can you please tell us the filename of one of the files from the TV series where the metadata was incorrect so we can try to reproduce this here?

For the Display Titles it is possible to change the display title settings for a folder and also for the entire library, if you change the display titles for just one folder then browse the files through a smart or active playlist then the titles will still use the old style. Please try changing the display titles in the Options dialog on the General page to see if this gets the titles displaying correctly on the device.

    Hi Peter,

I can tell you all 5 filenames:

    Timeless S01E01 Pilot.mp4
Timeless S01E02 The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln.mp4
    Timeless S01E03 Atomic City.mp4
Timeless S01E04 Party at Castle Varlar.mp4
    Timeless S01E05 The Alamo.mp4

I changed the display titles in the Options dialog in the General page to %FILENAME% then did "maintain now" on my "TV Shows & Series" main playlist (under "Library"). Then I went to my playback device and the title for the first filename above still displays incorrectly as: "E0001: Wrist Wrestling / Lama Kunga". Wow, seems so difficult to get Mezzmo to use filenames...

Anyway, looking forward to your reply and further help on this.

    Thanks!

I created some test files with these names and I got metadata for a sports documentary when the files were added. If I add the year 2016 to the search then I get the Timeless series but without this it matches the first result that is called Timeless.

If you want Mezzmo to use filenames as titles please use Display Titles http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=display_titles

    Hi Peter,

The instructions in your link for using filenames are exactly the same as what I did:

From Tools menu click "Options", then in General tab click button "Display Titles". Here is how I have it set:

    2016-11-15_19-05-43.jpg

Then I right-clicked my TV Shows & Series playlist and selected "Maintain Playlist" and then "Maintain Now". After the maintenance was done, the filenames are still not displayed on my playback device (BluRay disc player). What am I doing wrong?

How do I add the year 2016 to the search? Do I need to add 2016 into all the filenames? Is there a way to clear the metadata for just this folder after I rename the files so that Mezzmo will rebuild the metatdata (for just these files) from scratch?

    Thanks,

    Lance

... and I will note that all the files in question are set as "TV Shows" in their properties.

    Hi Lance,
Maintaining the Playlist is not required when changing Display Title settings, these are loaded dynamically when reading the files from the database. It is probably best we see some logs to determine what is happening, please enable diagnostic logging http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=using_logging&s[]=diagnostic then after restarting your Mezzmo media server try browsing your files on the device and then send the logs to support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

You can go to the properties of each file in Mezzmo and click on 'Get Online Metadata' then in the search field add 2016 and then this should allow you to update the metadata with the correct values.
