Default Stream a blue ray with 3d content (format: mkv)

    Hi there,

last saturday we bought our new Sony NX 715. After i tried some other dlna server software , i found this genius mezzmo tool. I think it's the best designed tool because of light structure.

So i would like to use mezzmo as server for my video archive. In my tests streaming was really nice, but there is still one problem i don't understand. How can i stream ripped blue rays with 3d content?

I've no stand alone blue ray player. But i've have one in my pc system, so i can rip the files to archive and then play the content (I've to read how to rip ). I tested some files from web, but in all cases i see the pictures side by side and not in 3d.

Is there someone who can help me? I would like to buy this nice mezzmo tool, if it is possible to present my 3d content one my new Sony Bravia NX 715.

    Greetings.

    Sorry for my english.

    Hi,

Is there any setting on the TV that puts it in 3D mode? Perhaps a menu of some sort that you'll need to access that would switch the TV into that mode.

The other issue to consider is how you ripped the BluRay - did you rip out as a native format for the TV (e.g. AVCHD) or an MKV, for example? If the latter, then Mezzmo will have to transcode that (because the TV doesn't support MKVs natively) and this may cause loss of 3D (I'm just guessing here, as we don't have a 3D TV here to actually try this).

    Hi thanks,

for the fast reply. Yes i switched the Tv in 3D Mode. But i don't found an setting for sidebyside rips. I must admit that my expericence with 3D ist really low. The tests i was running were with sidebyside rips of mkv format. So i think it will be transcoded.

Is there a possibility how i can try it out to confirm your guess? For example with a ripped file in AVCHD or an other method as sidebyside (leftright)?

Yes, I think if you can find a 3D AVCHD file then that would be a better test. It would also need to fit within Mezzmo's device profile, so that Mezzmo doesn't transcode it, so if you have such a file please post FFmpeg information on it and we'll see if it fits or not and if it doesn't we can modify the profile to force it to pass through to see if that'll play ok.

Thanks! Yes, please do let us know how it goes - and if it'll start transcoding, we'll need to modify the device profile to pass it through (or you can disable transcoding).
