Default Pc based program to connect to the server

Hi i think a pc based program that would connect to the server like the android app would be the way to go. I have the phone app and its very good it will play every format that i have including avi (with out transcoding it). As we all know the web browser will not do this avi and other formats need to be transcoded and this does not work very well when trying to play 1080p files. It would be really helpfull to have something to run on a pc eg laptop so when you are away you can watch your movies in 1080 without transcoding them. the program would still need a username and password to connect for saftey reasons. could this be done?

    thanks

    Hi,
the web access in Mezzmo allows you to download the original file, on the details page http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...#video_details there is a button for this. You could use this to download the original file and play it in a program like VLC. A fully integrated program that did all this would be much better but until we can find time to develop something like this the use of the web access and download button might be a good workaround. If you want to play the file directly instead of downloading it there may be a browser extension you can install that will detect the video mimetype and allow you to select an external application.

that is all good in saying download the program but why download 2gb you have to wait then play it in on the computer when if you have a program that supports all formats like the app then you can just play it it does not make scene to download it.

    thanks

Which browser are you using? There should be an addon available that will allow you to pass the URL directly to a video player like VLC so that it can play it directly without downloading it.

For Firefox I used FlashGot https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...rc=userprofile and added vlc as a downloader then when I click on the download link on the details page of the video in Mezzmo Web Access I get prompted to select an action and I select FlashGot and vlc.

FlashGot operates as a helper for Download Managers so Firefox should not download the file if you select flashgot.png
