    Default Logitech Squeezebox Classic

    Hi,

Just purchased Mezzmo primarily for my WD TV Live - this seems to work A.OK.

Also wanted to use Mezzmo with my Logitech Squeezebox Classic (Firmware 130). Really wanted to get rid of Squeezebox Server, and just use Mezzmo as a consolidated MediaServer for both devices.

Not having too much luck in having the Squeezebox Classic see Mezzmo on my network.

Is there a setup guide for the Logitech Squeezebox and Mezzmo media server - am I missing something?

    Any help will be appreciated...

    Thanks OzScott

From what I saw, the SqueezeBox is not a DLNA-compliant device, therefore it cannot communicate with Mezzmo. You have to use their proprietary server, or look at the third party firmware replacement projects - one of them might add DLNA support to the Squeezebox.

    Hi RMerlin,

Thanks for responding... one of the reasons I sitched from TVersity to Mezzmo was for Logitech Squeezebox streaming ability. The conceiva website says it is compatible. Heave a look at: http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...icesupport.asp - Digital Music Players - Logitech Squeezebox ???

Oh well whatever - I'll continue to use SqueezeBox Server for the squeezebox.

But I must admit... AUD$32 for Mezzmo - bad buy in my opinion - should have stuck with TVersity (free) and works just as good (bar the user interface - but I can live with that). Won't be recommending Mezzmo to anyone soon... to many stoppages with AVI streaming to my WDTV Live, no support for Squeezebox (when it says there is)...

Thank you for your timely reply...

Maybe there is some Squeezebox-specific support from Mezzmo then that I don't know about, or it depends on which model of the Squeezebox. I'm sure someone from Conceiva will be able to clear this up on Monday.

For the WDTV Live, I own that device myself, and never had a single issue streaming AVI or MP4 to it. Conceiva should be able to help you troubleshoot this, as this is probably a configuration issue with your network that they'd be able to sort out.

For starter, make sure Mezzmo's profile is set on "WDTV Live" in its configuration. WD shares the same firmware designer as DLink on one of their products, and never bothered to change the ID string, so Mezzmo will (by default) identify it as a DLink device. Manually switching it to WDTV Live will solve transcoding issues, amongst other things.

Funnily, I did the exact opposite move from you - I switched from Tversity to Mezzmo because Tversity had a tendency of having hickups while streaming to the PS3 I was using then (plus, I wanted a more configurable menu layout - it had taken me a whole night to get something close to what I wanted with Tversity, and it involved a lot of experimentations with XML files). I wouldn't give up on Mezzmo just yet

Mezzmo does stream to the squeezebox, but you need to add it to squeezebox's server first (see this thread, for example: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...ght=squeezebox) - however, you still need the SB server running, because without that SB doesn't work at all.

With the WD TV Live - as RMerlin pointed out, please check that the device profile is set correctly. If it is and you're still having issues, please send a message to support (at) conceiva (dot) com and we'll sort it out.

Check here. This beta has a warning: 7.6 should be considered unstable and only downloaded by those willing to deal with this instability. But is has experimental UPnP/DLNA support. It also enables the headset jack.
