Is there anyway to put something into Mezzmo to allow it to support movies which have changed their names? Like an alias or AKA (also known as) field?

You could use the Sort Title or the Keyword field for this. There is currently no direct support for an alias or AKA field, could you please provide an example of how this would be used?

For instance, say you have a movie in your library called "The Time Shifters" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0204686/?ref_=nv_sr_1), which was the original title. The movie was then re-released as "Thrill Seekers". It would be convenient that searching for either title would list the movie - similar to how IMDB works. I'm not sure if I'm being clear in my explanation - if not, let me know and I'll try again.
Here's a screen shot showing what I mean - notice the first 2 fields. Can Mezzmo access the "Original Title" field in a useful manner - like when performing a search ?

We can add support for this, if you just want it for searching then you can put it into the Keyword field and this is used when Searching so the results will include the matches.

But that would be a strictly manual operation, correct?
Yes. We could automate it by adding support for reading the value from the Original title field into the Keywords field, if you send us the xml file for the timeshifters movie we can use this as an example to implement it.

File has been sent to support. Thx!
We have sent you a patch to try with the change that puts the original title in the Keywords property field.
