    Default Chromecast Android Streaming Problems

    Hi.

I have just started trialling mezzmo, and I am certainly looking to purchase it in full as the chromecast streaming straight from android is great. However I am having some problems:

    1) Whenever I stream any movie to chromecast from my android device the mezzmo player won't let me skip past 30seconds. The player will either jump to the 30sec point or most commonly play back from the start.

    2) When downloading or transferring a video file to my device mezzmo will cast the partial video file however it appears to only play the video up until a point and then stop. I guess that mezzmo is only transcoding the video file when it is initially loaded and does not watch the partial file for any additional data being downloaded so it can transcode the stream on the fly?

These problems don't exist when playing media locally on the device.

    My specs:

    Model No: Fusion5 108 Tablet
OS: Android 6.0.1 API Level 23
    Kernel: Linux 3.4.39
    Processor Type: UltraOcta-A83
    Firmware version: v6.Orc4_20160910
    GPU: PowerVR SGX 544MO
OpenGL Version: OpenGL ES 2.0 build 1.14@3793329 (MAIN)
    CPU: ARMv7 Processor rev 5 (v71)
    BogoMips: 4800.00
    Hardware: sun8i

    Hi,
we will test the 30 second skip here to see if there is a bug.

When playing a file the app gets the duration and file size from the file then will stream the file up until the duration is reached, so if the file is growing in size while streaming it may get cut off early because the app does not go back and check the file size to see if it has changed.

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

Thanks for the reply. I thought as much with respect to the partial video file.. it would be a very useful feature to add though so you can stream files to chromecast while they are still downloading (that's if it is actually possible).

I tested the 30 second skip here and it appeared to work fine, possibly the file you are trying it on is being transcoded on the fly by the Mezzmo server on your PC?

Instead of downloading the file you can push the URL directly to the Chromecast so that it plays it without downloading to your Android device, when you select to download the file in your browser if you are prompted to select an app to handle the download you can select Mezzmo and this will allow playing the file directly to the chromecast.
