Is there an official forum to discuss the Roku app specifically? Maybe it wouldn't hurt to have one.

I'm not sure what the differences are between the built-in Roku Ultra movie app vs. the Mezzmo app, but it looks like their app is doing some sort of cleanup/up-sampling/HDR tweaks or something to give a better (cleaner and ore vibrant) output vs. Mezzmo.

The Mezzmo app is using the built-in video player of the Roku, just with modified colours and styles. The Roku app should use the same player.

There is no official forum to discuss the Roku app, if the amount of discussion of the app increases we may add a separate forum.

Weird... Wonder why there is a noticeable difference in the way videos look.

Could you take photos of the same video playing in each player and post them here or send them to support [at] conceiva [dot] com so that we can see the difference?

I took pictures with my phone, but they look virtually identical in the phone pics, which I would tend to expect given the state of phone cameras.

Possibly the Roku app is doing something different to Mezzmo but if it looks the same in the photos then it must be very subtle.

It's definitely pretty subtle. It just feels like upsampling or HDR or both. I'm not using it at 4k. I only have a 1080p TV hooked to it.

The Roku 7.2 firmware supports setting the resolution and framerate of the video so possibly the Roku player is doing this, it could be forcing a larger or smaller resolution that is having an effect. The Mezzmo app does not set this and leaves it unlimited. https://sdkdocs.roku.com/display/sdk...ampaign=buffer MaxVideoDecodeResolution allows capping the resolution so it is possible that the Roku app is limiting it to 720p.

Peter, thank you for the support and the implementation of the pause function for photos in the beta app!
