Thread: Display photos via Roku app

  1. #1

Default Display photos via Roku app

Running v5.1.1.0 on win10, and using Roku app v1.2 to display photos on PC. I have multiple folders of photos, which are defined in win10 mezzmo. I see all the folders in the roku app. When I open a folder, it displays 1 of 148, for example. Do I have to somehow select all of these images for them to be displayed? If I press OK on the remote, sometimes the app will display many photos, other times the app will display only 3-4 photos and then stop. The behavior seems to be erratic. Any help would be appreciated.

The 1.4 beta performs better. Still had a couple of times where the slideshow stopped, but in general is much better.
It seems in this beta, that I am not able to change the image display interval. The option is there in settings, but can't seem to get there. Do you see this also?
Also, is the pause key on the remote supposed to pause the slideshow?
    Thank you.

This leads me to a question.... The Roku app looks suspiciously like the web client for Mezzmo. Is it just a "fancy wrapper" for the web client?

I tested the beta here and I can get to the slideshow interval value and change it, the PIN item should be selected by default when you enter settings then you can get to the slideshow value by pressing down on the remote.

The Roku app is a completely separate client to the web client, they share a similar design but the app was created from the ground up.

So I am having problems getting the beta app to work. I am not sure what to pit in for the server. It says http://ip:10.8.5.1/desc The 10.8.5.1 is my IP address for my Mezzmo server. It won't let me add it. The on-screen keyboard is all jacked up and not aligned, I am trying to add it from my phone keyboard.

    It just plain ain't working.

The url should be http://10.8.5.1:53168/desc, you have put the ip where the port should be - the text ip needs to be replaced with the actual ip of the pc.

I had asked this earlier, but may have been overlooked. While using the Roku app to display photos, should the pause function on the remote be functional?

Currently the pause only works for music, we can add support for pause while playing a photo slideshow. We will release a new beta for the Roku app with support for the pause/play button in a photo slideshow.
