Default Can not open visible Media Files with MS Media Player, VLC or other streaming device.

    Hi CONCEIVIA,

after reinstallaing my server I have problems to stream my Videos.

    Hardware:

    - Server A: MS Server 2012 R2 (Domain Controller and file Server)
    - Server B: MS Server 2012 R2 (Aux Server running mezzmo)

both Server are running under HyperV Server 2012 R2.

After installing mezzmo I added my Videos to the mezzmo library.
For two or three days it works pretty. But now I cant connect with Win 7 or Win10 Clients.
Just as with dlna devices (WD live).
The error message is : "Windows can not find the file.....)

I can see all files in media Player. Just as the genre.
Everything seems ok. But can not Play any file.

    What can I do?
    thank you :-)

    best regards
    Kutjub

    Hi Kutjub,
it may be a permissions issue if Mezzmo can list the files but cannot open them for streaming, please try running the Mezzmo server as a Windows Console process in 'Media Server Settings' in Mezzmo to test to see if the files will play.

    Peter,

Thank you it is working now.
But what is the difference between these options?

    Best regards

Running the server as a Windows console process is like running the Mezzmo application and gets the rights to access files from your user account. Running the server as a service causes the server to run under the Local System account with reduced rights so if you have a network location that uses authentication then this will fail unless you run the service under your user account also http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=files_not_listed_on_device&s[]=nas.
