I have recently installed DownloadStudio 6.0.6 and I am using it very successfully. However, I do have a problem in that regardless of how many downloads I schedule up, there is always 1 or 2 that stop at about 98 or 99% and fail to go any further. If I stop the download and then resume them, it will immediately go to 100% without downloading anything more and the files are complete.
Win 7 64bit Ultimate using IE8 with a 4Mb leased line. No proxy.
This sounds like a problem with flushing the file buffer to disk, DownloadStudio will wait for a file buffer flush to complete before updating the percentage complete, if this flush never completes then the download status will remain at the same percentage. Are the downloaded files working correctly when you use them (ie. no missing data)?
The downloads are perfect so it is finishing the download in reality. I thought originally that it was only when I saved the files to a network location but that isn't true. I have the problem regardless of where the file ends up - local or remote.
I have a similar problem with 6.0.6.0. Downloads are typically taking a short time to get to 99% and then another two minutes or more to complete. When I use the built-in browser downloader, speeds are typically 250-500KB/sec depending on the site. Average speeds for this software are comparable for the first 99% but then 'hang' or sometimes restart to give averages around 15KB/s. Screen shots of job details attached.
I am a new user running Win & 64 bit. D/ls are not scheduled.
I think it is a display problem. If you have a number of downloads that are connecting but haven't started to download, when a current download gets to about 99% or the last status update prior to being completed, the connecting download will start. If you highlight the download that appears to be stuck at 99%, it will instantly change to completed 100%.
Can I suggest that the problem is related to updating the status of a download when it gets to 100%?
