    Default Way of sorting ?

    Good evening everybody

First, excuse my poor English but I'm sure you'll understand me.

I start using Mezzo. Before I used Server Media Orange.
Mezzmo waouh ! 70 ways of classifying movies from "Album to Title" to "Title for sorting"

But I did'nt found how classifyng by letters in 26 folders named from A to Z.

Of course I can do that manually. I can create 26 différents folders and in each folder include one by one my videos.

But I think that with a such a so fine tool as Mezzmo i'ts possible to do that automatically.

On my Smart TV DLNA all my movies dispatched in 26 folders. Movies begining by A in the folder A. Movies begining by S in the folder S Etc. I can do that easily with Twonky but not with Mezzmo.

    Thanks a lot.

When you install Mezzmo, you get a default set of playlists created. Under the 'Video' playlist, you should see the 'Movies' playlist. This is an active playlist that has all your movies listed with A-Z sub-playlists. I think this is what you are after .

You can edit or remove the default set of playlists as you like. You can create your own playlists - normal playlists, smart playlists, active playlists and linked playlists. For more information, see our wiki - http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...mezzmo_library.

if you need help to create a playlist, let us know and we'll help out.

Thanks a lot but I do not find sub folders. I'm very sorry.
After installing Mezzmo on my TV I had found a big amount of differents sorting activated. I need only 2 ways.
I had deleted the whole ways of sorting activated in order to choice only 2 ways.

I have only one folder named Movies. And one play list. All my movies are inside a one and only folder. Movies only. Any pictures or music.
Among the 70 ways of sorting I have marked sort by name. Ok.

On my TV screen all my movies are showed listed by their names from A to Z

    But you explain that

your movies listed with A-Z sub-playlists.

Bibliotheque Films Proprietes Trier par Any sub playlist ( sous dossier in French) A to Z option.

I would like, just for beginning with Mezzmo for the moment, get what I had using with Orange Twonky.
After installing Orange Twonky ( gift from the FAI Orange for its customers) I did absolutely nothing. Mark nothing Exactly the same folder with all my movies inside
In my TV screen list of movies and list of sub folders from A to Z. 5 choices. And Mezzmo 70.

Mezzmo is very complicate for a beginner in DLNA. It's a professionnal tool.

Sorry to need a little help again. Where is the line "sub folders from A to Z" in my Film folder Properties "sort by" ?

    A +

It sounds like you have deleted all the default playlists that come with Mezzmo and you added your "movies" folder into Mezzmo. So, in Mezzmo, you only see your Mezzmo folder and all the files and sub-folders under it.

You would like to have your movies organized A-Z sub-playlists, the best way it to create an active playlist. It's easy to do:

    1. Click 'Create Playlist' -> 'Active Playlist' from toolbar. This will display the Active Playlist Properties dialog.
    2. On the Active Playlist Properties dialog, give your playlist a name (e.g. "Movies (A-Z)").
    3. On the Active Playlist Properties dialog, click the 'Add >' button and click 'Group By First Letter'
    4. On the Active Playlist Properties dialog, click the 'Video files' radio button.
    5. On the Active Playlist Properties dialog, click the 'Smart Filter' button to display the Smart Filter dialog.
    6. On the Smart Playlist dialog, select the "Match" checkbox.
    7. On the Smart Playlist dialog, select "Category" from the rule combo box. Next, select "contains" from the next combo box and then enter "Movie" into the next edit box. Click OK to save these settings.
    8. On the Active Playlist Properties dialog, click OK to save your changes.

You will see your new active playlist displayed in the tree in Mezzmo and it will start populating with movies. They will be grouped A-Z as you want. Now you can browse and stream this playlist on your devices in your home.

Waouh Easy to do ????? It's funny.

    Mezzmo vs Twonky

I used Twonky 5 years long.

    You install Twonky
You choose the path to your folder

    AND ALL IS FINISHED

On your screen TV you get AUTOMATICALLY sorting by subfolders from A to Z. Five possibilities only and not 70 but you have nothing to do to get that.
I'm 7 years old and I can configure Twonky. Not Mezzmo. Lol !

I need a coal stove and Mezzmo give me a nuclear power plant.

But the problem is not that. Only impossible to mark the line "create subfolder A to Z" because there is no line like that among the 70 others ways. I have to do the job by myself. Using Twonky not.

"who can do the most can do the least" False about Mezzmo.

I don't understand. A so extraordinary tool without line to mark subfolder A Z because not included automatically.

    Thanks for your help.

I can't do what you explain so well

My play list is already created and thre is no Sort subfolders A to Z in the 70 lines of Sort by ( Trier par)

I can't create a new play list Active PLAY LIST. 4 possibilities but not active

    ??? I'm very sorry.

Mezzmo does automatically organize your movies A-Z just like Twonky. It's very easy to use and there's nothing you need to do. Your problem is that deleted these playlists after installing Mezzmo .

So, the steps I provided above explains how to recreate this 'Movie (A-Z)' playlist manually.

In French, the 'Create Playlist' -> 'Active Playlist' menu item is 'Créer' -> 'Liste de lecture dynamique'. See this wiki topic to see the Active Playlist Properties dialog - http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...ist_properties.

    Done........Thanks again

Mezzmo is not easy to manage

Why I had deleted the lists ? And also metadatas ?

Just after the set up I had on my screen TV a lot of differents ways of sorting. 15 or so I remember. I need 2.

Metadatas activated a startup. What a mess.

Several movies titles replaced by others titles from movies I don't know.
Movies front pictures replaced by others pictures from movies I don't know.
French titles replaced by titles in English. But not all of them. And not the good ones.

In fact, Mezzmo at start up activate automatically a lot of things many people does not use. It's too much.
I had all desactived and erased. Mezzmo clean and nothing marked inside.

But it is not easy to add manually exactly what you need. Mezzmo is like a nuclear plant at home. Or a Formula 1 gave to a boy without driving licence.
