Default Mezzmo Android remote access issues.

I am currently using Mezzmo version 5.2.0.0 for windows, android app version 2.0.7. The media port is set to 53168 and the remote is set to 53169. Port forwarding is set correctly to the computer running mezzmo. The web access is working when i make sure the port is 53168 in the web address. I have attempted having the remote and media ports both be 53168 but it does not have any affect.

When i attempt to use the android app to remote access the server away from home i receive a message stating "Error Browsing:-1".
This error happens whether or not i have the remote port and media port on the same digit. Any ideas as to why it does not want to pick up the server?

    Thank you for the help.

If the Android app is trying to access the server on port 53169 then it will fail if the forwarded port is 53168. Try long clicking on the server in the list in the Android app and un-sticky it then refresh the list so that the server's description document with 53168 as the remote port is listed then you can sticky the server again and this should allow remote access.

    Peter,

I have adjusted the mezzmo server to have the remote and media port be the same 53168. I am attempting to see if the android app will work on the phone i have. It works great "in house" ie when it picks up the 192 internal ip address with the wifi. It is when i disable the wifi and attempt to use the data on the phone that it will not pick up the external ip. I have seen it become remote access while still connected to the wifi and change to my static external ip but as soon as i set it up and turn off the wifi it will provide the browsing error. The web access will work great while on data and away from home. I am testing the app out on the phone first before using it on my away from home player.

Are there any limitations to the android app like the minimum bandwidth of internet required?

I will attempt to look into it further tomorrow. Thank you for the help.

The app gets the remote port from the server when it is discovered and then you can switch between remote and local by long clicking on the server in the list. You can also try adding the server manually in the servers page using the '+' icon.

The bandwidth depends upon the media files you are streaming, music and photos should be fine but video may have problems with higher resolution or high bitrate files.

I wanted to take the time to thank you, apologies for the delay. I tried the program with an external setup and seems to be working so far.
