Default Media Devices settings changing randomly.

    Windows 10 64 bit + spring update, TP-Link Archer T4UH-V1 USB 3 adaptor.

This works perfectly most of the time with the several devices set to use this adaptor but every now and again I can't find Mezzmo on my BluRay 5.1 player which I steam to.

When I look at the device setting it has reveted to Automatic, setting it back toe the TP-Link solves the problem, this happens randomly and not after any sort of upgrade.

Not a great problem but any help gratefully received.

    Mike

    Hi,
when the IP address of your adapter changes Mezzmo cannot lookup the address anymore but is still using the old IP address so even though it shows Automatic it is trying to use the old IP and since it is no longer used the device will not be able to connect to Mezzmo. You will need to assign a static IP address to the adapter so that the IP does not change and this will prevent the problem from occurring again.

Cheers for your reply, I'm with Virgin Media broadband and I don't know how to set assign a static IP address to the adaptor.

You can follow the steps in the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfpweGttSZQ, it should be similar to your router.
