Default Problem with android mezzmo app

Hi im having problems connecting to the server using the mezzmo android app outside the network. i enter my domain name:53168/desc and it fails. I then tried the url on my pc using the browser over lan and got the page with all the info. Then i tried the url outside the network on my phone using the mezzmo app and get Error: The requested resource could not be loaded because the server returned an error: 403 Forbidden. To make shore it was mezzmo i stopped the server and did it again using the internet and got page could not be found then i started it and tried again and got Error: The requested resource could not be loaded because the server returned an error: 403 Forbidden so i think its something to do with mezzmo server??? can you help. It use to work on the last ver before this latest one

    thanks

    Hi Stewart,
you will need to make sure that you have forwarded the port in your router so that when the router receives the request for port 53168 it is sent to the pc running Mezzmo. http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...side_your_home

Can you please check the ip address you are forwarding the request to for the port in the router to make sure it matches the ip of the pc, possibly it has changed due to dhcp?

Can you please check your public IP address to see if it matches your domain name? Type what is my ip into google in a browser then open a command prompt and type nslookup followed by your domain name to compare. You could also try accessing the Mezzmo server using the public ip + :53168/desc

Yes I can access mezzmo by using the public ip + :53168/desc and my domain name + :53168/desc (inside the network) as i run a dns inside the network to. I get the mxl page. Its just on the outside i get the access denied error. As i said it was working on the build before this latest one. No settings have been changed. Also checked the firewalls and they are all good i even disabled them and still the same error. I will send you the domain name i are using through pm so you can see what the error is.

If I try the domain name + :53168/desc here it returns 403 in the browser so it is not a problem with the Android app but a problem with accessing the URL. Same problem occurs when just using the public IP + :53168/desc. If I use just the domain name then it loads the site so it is likely that the ISP may be blocking the port and you will have to try changing it to a different value like 8080. Try changing the port forwarding in your router to forward port 8080 to 53168 on the PC then see if this loads the page.

We will need to see some logs to determine if the request is getting to the Mezzmo server, please enable diagnostic logging in Mezzmo then after restarting your Mezzmo media server try accessing the server using the domain name and port then send the logs to support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we will investigate further.
