Is there something that is forcing this? I am using the SonyBDP-NTSC-NoDivX.prf

On a related note, I am setting up players for all of the tvs. If one of them transcodes a file, will the others use that same transcoded file?

It's transcoded because of DTS audio stream (dca) which is the first one in the file. Does the player support DTS?

If the device profile is the same for multiple players, then yes, only one needs to transcode and others will find the transcoded files.

    Arghh.

    On the player, yes
    Through the USB, Yes
Through DLNA, I guess it is in the same boat as most of the other stuff.

We can test if it supports DTS - if you turn off transcoding and try to play that file, does it play?

Nope, "No playable files" error. Sigh.
