    Default Run Mezzmo?

I'm a bit confused about whether there is a reason to run mezzmo constantly and leave minimized in status tray. I don't believe it impacts the actual Mezzmo server and DLNA access but maybe if its not running the database maintenance will not occur.

    Appreciate some guidance.

If it should be left running can I suggest that you have an option that when you click the X in top right the first time that it pops up a dialog box asking if you want to fully exit or minimise to status bar and the a check box to remenber this setting. As i keep inadvertantly shutting it down.

It is my experience that it does NOT have to be up. I think it is strictly a GUI.
I close out or "X" out of it and the server runs fine, as well as any database updates.
Someone from Conceiva might be able to comment if there are any restrictions.

Once your library is configured and all your folders are all in, then there's no real reason to run Mezzmo GUI - unless you want to do maintenance (which is not really required either, if you added your files using the "Add Folder" command, because they'll be automatically updated when needed).

Thanks for the suggestion about the closing dialog!

Well that was what I was thinking as with the GUI not running, any new files that get added to existing shared folders still get seen and can be played. I have noticed that sometimes there is a generic thumbnail for new files.

Does the GUI have to be running fopr the daily schedule to run?

Yes, the GUI needs to be running for the daily schedule to run.
