    Default Maintaining playlist

I am running Mezzmo 5.2.0.0. I seem to be having a problem with Mezzmo recognizing new TV series I have added into my TV series folder. I have tried right clicking and maintain playlist, but nothing changes. And yes Mezzmo is running. This seems to have started happening in the last month or so. Any ideas?

I also do not have a tab to try and schedule a time for maintaining my playlists. I just have a tab that says "maintain now". What am I missing?

Any suggestions and help are appreciated. I ditched Plex in the past for similar problems with movies. Mezzmo seems sooo much better, but am having these issues.

Have you added the TV series folder to Mezzmo as a folder or have you scanned the folder to add the files? Adding the folder will allow Mezzmo to check for new files and add them to the library, scanning for files will just add them once and then to add new files you will need to scan the folder again. See http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=adding_folders&s[]=add&s[]=folder for more information.

I thought I added it as a folder. It is a folder on my computer. How do I tell if it is in Mezzmo as a folder? If it is not can I add it as a new folder without Mezzmo scanning everything twice? I thought I added my TV SERIES just like my other folders, perhaps not. If it isn't in as a folder which tutorial do I use to do it correctly. I thought I knew what I was doing. Thanks as always for your help.
If it is not a folder is it possible to just change it as a folder entry in Mezzmo?
    Hope I made sense!

I just looked into Mezzmo and my TV SERIES is not showing as a folder. It is just a playlist. Would it be easier to just delete this playlist and try to add it properly as a folder?
Thanks Peter for all your help.

You can add the folder to Mezzmo from the 'Add to Library...' button on the toolbar and Mezzmo will scan the folder and add any new files, existing files will remain as they are. It is best to keep the playlist as it is and add the folder in addition to the playlist.

OK Peter, I have successfully got my TV Series folder into the folder section of Mezzmo. Don't know what I did wrong the first time. Now I have two entries in the folder section titled TV Series. Is it possible to remove the TV Series playlist from the folder structure?

Also possibly a redundant question, but what is the difference between a playlist and a folder. If they are both showing the same information?

Pete, one question that got lost in the shuffle - I also do not have a tab to try and schedule a time for maintaining my playlists. I just have a tab that says "maintain now". What am I missing?

Is scheduling not an option anymore?

A playlist is a structure created and maintained by Mezzmo that represents the media files in your library. A folder is a structure created and maintained by you in Windows Explorer of the files and folders on disk and is dynamically updated when you browse it. The advantage of the playlist is that it can be faster than the folder view, the advantage of the folder view is that you get new files added to Mezzmo. You can delete the Playlist if you don't want the extra TV Series playlist in Mezzmo, you will need to keep the folder view if you want new files to be added to the library.
The schedule for Maintain Library only appears when you select Maintain Library from the toolbar or main menu, right-clicking on a playlist or file will not show this.

Pete, Thanks for explaining all of that. Very helpful.

As far as the schedule for maintaining the library, even if I click on the toolbar or the tools menu, I do not get the option of setting a schedule.

Hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving!

Scheduling Maintenance is only in Mezzmo Pro so you should check in Help->About to see if your version of Mezzmo is registered and if it is not then use your serial number and license key to register the software.
