Default Samsung C5500 Blu Ray - Device Disconected Error

    Hello,

I have Mezzmo running on a Windows Vista machine which is connected to the network via WiFi. My DLNA certified Samsung C5500 BLuRay is connected via Cat 5 cable directly to my modem.

The C5500 will recognize Mezzmo and things seem to work fine but eventually it will disconnect from the server and give an error stating Device Disconnected.

I can go back to the Mezzmo software and change the profile of of the Samsung from Samsung BDP to Samsung BDP 3D, then I reset the server, then switch it back to Samsung BDP and Mezzmo will reconnect to the device, but again, eventually it will disconnect.

There is no pattern to the time it takes before it disconnects. Sometimes it may be 30 minutes, other time 5 minutes.

Can someone please help me out. I love the Mezzmo Server and plan to buy the non trial version, but only if I can get it to work with my device. Otherwise it is useless to me.

    Thanks,

    Travis

    Hello,

This could be due to one of the two issues we're currently looking at - one of them is fixed actually. If you send a message to support (at) conceiva (dot) com we'll send you a patched server to try. If that doesn't help, it means you're hitting the second issue and we'll have that fixed soon as well.

    Email has been sent.

I was wondering though, why don't you post the solutions to peoples problems on the forum as opposed to doing it privately through email? This is not a criticism, but rather an inquiry. I would think that by posting solutions, it would make them available to others having the same issues and lighten your workload. I know I personally spent hours searching the forum and while I found other posts with problems like mine, I never found any solutions because they were all discussed privately via email.

    Thanks,

    Travis

The reason why solutions are not posted on the forum is because they are relevant only for the currently released version, so if somebody comes here in a few months time and downloads something that was posted, it most probably won't work with whatever the current version will be installed at that time (or make things worse). Once a version is released all patches and device profiles updates are rolled into it (provided they work of course) and become obsolete. So, if this was done publically, somebody would have to go through all the old threads and delete download links, which is just not a feasible job.

There was no development during the holidays, but we're back in and working on this issue right now. If you've sent a message to support, then you'll get a patch once it's ready

Are you using the latest v2.1.13? If you are, then this should be fixed. If it still happens, it could be something else, in this case, can you please send in the logs (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) to support (at) conceiva (dot) com showing when the device disconnects?
