Default DVD .ISO shows up as "INVALID FILE" in Mezzmo web library

I am using Mezzmo Pro 5.2.0.0
I have about 125 DVD .ISO's stored on my media server that show up as "Invalid File" in the Mezzmo web server, and will not play on any Android device or on any DLNA TV.

Other .ISOs do not show up as "invalid file" and DO play in the Mezzmo web server, on Android devices and DLNA TVs.

All of the "invalid file" DVD .ISOs play perfectly fine on a PC using VLC, and if the files were corrupt or not properly read or stored from the source DVD, they certainly would NOT play in VLC.

    How do I fix this?

Here's a screenshot of the "invalid file" for my .ISO of THX 1138. This .ISO plays just fine through my LAN using VLC on a PC.

THE RESOLUTION OF THIS ISSUE- TURNED OUT THAT MY MEZZMO DATABASE WAS SCREWED UP; ATTEMPTS TO CLEAR THE DATABASE USING MEZZMO CONTROLS CAUSED MEZZMO TO CRASH- REINSTALLING MEZZMO SOLVED THE PROBLEM. I think that my Mezzmo installation / database had gotten scrambled over the years - I had bought Mezzmo years ago, upgraded it as new versions came out and then upgraded to "PRO" - likely all this lamination of the database and Mezzmo installation / registry stuff eventually caused problems. Uninstalling and re-installing took care of it and only took a few minutes.

Conceiva support worked with me to try to figure this all out, they were very helpful and together we tried to find the "why" of this, but ultimately shotgunning the problem with a re-installation fixed it, even if the exact cause was not identified.

    Hi,
do the files appear as invalid file in the Mezzmo application on your PC?

Mezzmo Android: Install it on your tablet, smartphone, Android TV or Amazon Fire to browse and stream files from your Mezzmo library to all your devices. Full details at http://www.conceiva.com/products/mez...mo_android.asp
Mezzmo for Kodi Add-on: Install it into Kodi to stream files from your Mezzmo library directly in Kodi. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...odi_user_guide
Mezzmo for Roku App: Install it onto your Roku to stream files from your Mezzmo library. Full details at http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?...oku_user_guide

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "the Mezzmo application on your PC?" Do you mean the Mezzmo media server GUI window on the server? No, they do not show as INVALID there, see att'd screenshot. Mezzmo_window_on_media_server.png

Is there some WINDOWS APP I am supposed to run on the PCs that are used for watching the video from the server? I went to the Windows Store, there is no app available named "MEZZMO" - I've just been using the UPNP DLNA icon "MEZZMO" that appears in Windows File Explorer under NETWORK, which brings up the web player. I don't use a Mezzmo app to view server content on my PC.

Since Mezzmo has been so troublesome to get working for all of my stored ISO's I typically just use an SMB fileshare and play the DVD .ISO in VLC, because there it plays just like a DVD with the menu and all other features intact. But this only works on Windows machines on my LAN, on TVs and my Android devices I can't use VLC this way. I have a Panasonic plasma TV set and I use it's DNLA interface- only about 20% of the .ISOs will play. On Android devices on my LAN or WLAN I use a Mezzmo Android app or Kodi, and only about 20% of my DVD .ISO's will play. The other 80% just do nothing, do not play.
From outside of my home LAN I use the Web interface, and again, 80% of my .ISOs show "Invalid File" (same inside my LAN our out on the WAN on the web player on Chrome, Edge, or Firefox)

By the Mezzmo application on your PC I mean the Mezzmo media server GUI window on the server. Do you have transcoding disabled in Transcoding Settings in Mezzmo? If transcoding is disabled then ISO files will not be able to be played in the web browser or on devices that do not support mpeg2.

See att'd screenshot. Transcoding is definitely ON.transcode.png

And really your answer does not take into account that SOME .ISO files play in the web player but most do not, which I have stated. So, obviously transcoding MUST be "ON."

Thanks, I missed the part about some of the ISOs playing. Do you run the Mezzmo server as a Windows service or a console process? If it is running as a service then it could be a permissions issue, try going to 'Media Server Settings' in Mezzmo and run the server as a console process to see if the ISO files show up correctly.
