    Default Multi-Disc CD Ausio Sorting

I'd like to see disc number respected in the sorting of albums.

For example, I have Pink Floyd's "The Wall" ripped from 2 CDs. I'd like to have the playlist for that album respect the Disc 1/2 and Disc 2/2 tags so that I do not have to add a disk number in the Album name and have them be separated as though they are two different albums. Further, I'd like to play from the first song on disk 1 to the last song on disc 2 without interruption.

I'd like this to be respected through all playlists.

You may want to try creating a gapless file from the two albums so that they can play without interruption http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?..._gapless_music

I know about gapless, but what would be ideal is for it to, in any album based playlist, i.e Album Artists, allow for a single album name with multiple discs and sort first by disc number of x discs, then by track.

The problem with gapless is that it requires manual intervention - I have probably close to 2000 double triple or even quadruple albums. Wagner’s Ring is a pain, for another example.

An single album may be many discs.

In an active playlist sorting is performed on each level so if you create an active playlist with keywords album then disc and set the sorting to track ascending you will have a playlist that is sorted by album, disc and track. You will need to go to options and uncheck the box for only listing files at the lowest level in active playlists.

I think we may be crossing wires here a bit.

What I'm trying to achieve is Album Artist --> Album/Series --> Disc/Season Sort By Track Ascending. I want to keep "List files only at lowest level of the playlist", because it seems that if I do not, it shows all the files at the topmost hierarchy (Album Artist). While this seems to work without the requisite renaming of the Album/Season field to something like "The Wall [D1]" and "The Wall [D2]", it still shows each as two separate entities. I could create a playlist for the single album and use the method described above, but that doesn't work for a large library to make all double albums work that way.

Basically what I'm looking for I suppose is a more advanced query to populate a playlist similarly to the out-of-the-box Album Artist playlist, but to treat albums that are a part of a set, even if they originally shipped on multiple discs, as a single entity, and order fracks from the first some on the first of the set, to the last song on the last of the set, i.e.:

    Album:
    1) d1 t1
    2) d1 t2
    3) d1 t3...
    4) d2 t1
    5) d2 t2...

    etc...

It's not currently possible for Mezzmo to do this automatically but you could rename the album to remove the [D1] and [D2] so that they are all put in the same album then update the track numbers of the disc 2 tracks so that they appear after the first disc (so disc 2 track 1 would become track 13 for example).
