Default Automatically set category when finding new content

When Mezzmo discovers new content, it assumes that it is a movie, or based on the file type that is a DVD. (or both) It enters that into the content field. Is there a way to preset that entry so that anything discovered is categorized as NEW? (or whatever) In that way I can have a playlist find new content, then check and fill in missing attributes, elect an image, and other manual chores. My new content would be easy to find on the players, and then later change it to a more appropriate category.

Sorry - there is no method to auto-assign a category to a file in the the current version of Mezzmo.

We do have the "Recently Added" playlist for listing the latest files you have added to your Mezzmo library. You can easily clone these playlists to make your own - e.g. new movies that you have added, or new DVDs you have added, or new TV shows that you have added, etc. Right-click on the 'Recently Added' playlist and click Properties to display the Playlist Properties dialog. This will tell you how the Recently Added playlist works.

    Thank you Paul,

I search recently added quite often. The only reason it was a problem was that some of the content that I am adding was actually "recorded" up to three years ago, and so the date is so old it doesn't pop up above the recently added products.

I was trying also to rush the content update procedure, or if a new what category of content I was adding it would be set without intervention.

    We will survive - Dave

    Hi Dave,

Mezzmo keeps the "date added" for each file when you add the file into your Mezzmo library (along with all the other metadata that it keeps). So even if the file was created many years ago, the "date added" will still be the date when you added the file into Mezzmo (e.g. yesterday).

However, if you already added the file a long time ago into your Mezzmo library and then you tried recently to add it again, then the "date added" will still be from the previous date. Perhaps that is what is happening to you.
