The current version of FFMPEG now takes advantage of Intel's Quick Sync hardware for encoding / decoding. If your CPU supports Quick Sync, this may speed up transcoding from 2x to maybe as much as 10x.

FFMPEG can use CUDA for filtering but not for decoding / encoding. See https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/HWAccelIntro

Mezzmo v5.0+ has hardware transcoding via Intel Quick Sync. Go to the Transcoding Settings dialog to turn it on.

FYI - You'll need to have the proper Intel video drivers installed on your system for the "Use Quicksync" option to be available. Even without those drivers, Windows can use some generic video drivers and you'll have a display. But without the drivers from Intel, harware acceleration isn't really working for Video or transcoding. The Intel Driver Utility will look at your system and give you an easy way to download and install the latest drivers for your hardware. See => http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/...rt/detect.html
