Thank you but sorry I don't understand
It is the metadata I'm concerned about, I understand I can elect not to delete the actual files when I delete a playlist. Are you suggesting I delete the Library\Video tree as per the screenshot above? Isn't that what holds all metadata??
Sorry - I was not clear. Your Mezzmo library contains entries for files and playlists/folders. The entries for files hold all the metadata about files (such as title, album, artist, description, artwork, etc.). The entries for playlists/folders simply contain pointers to files. So, deleting a playlist just deletes the playlist entry and does not touch the files or metadata for the files.
I was suggesting that you delete the 'Genre' active playlist since this playlist is not working properly (i.e. it has year sub-playlists when it should not). So, click on 'Genre' playlist in the tree in Mezzmo and press DEL key. Click 'Yes' to confirm the deletion. Now create a new Genre playlist. Click on 'Video' in the tree in Mezzmo. Click 'Create Playlist' -> 'Active Playlist'. On the Active Playlist Properties dialog, type 'Genre' into the Playlist name edit box. Next, click Add -> Genre and then select the 'Video files' radio button. Click OK and you should have a new Genre playlist under Video.

Thanks Paul, that seems to work OK. I now have a new Genre playlist without the Year sub-playlist.
Glad that's working now
