On the Transcoding Options screen, the checkbox for enabling Intel Quick Sync is disabled.
I had a look at my processor spec sheet (i7-3770K) and it looks like it is supported.
Why is the option disabled?

The most likely reason is that Mezzmo cannot find your Intel Quick Sync DLLs on your computer. Try downloading the Intel Media SDK (https://software.intel.com/en-us/media-sdk) and installing it. This will install all the DLLs for Quick Sync detection & encoding support. Let us know how you go.

Hi Paul,
That worked, thanks.
Is this an issue specific to certain installations? Is Mezzmo able to install these dependencies on installation?
Glad you are up and running .
We don't ship and install the Intel Media SDK currently since we do not want to disturb users' environment (e.g. they may already have a set of Intel Media DLLs on their computer). So for the moment, we will advise users to download and install the Intel Media SDK themselves. We are still reviewing this as we collect more and more user feedback.

Fair enough, that makes sense.
Maybe you could detect if the users CPU is capable of quick sync and give them a link to download the SDK.
Thanks for the suggestion. We'll certainly explain it in detail in our new wiki.

Paul,
Would it be ok for me to attach the installer to a message in this thread? It's 20MB.
You don't have to register or be a developer. On the "Thank you for your interest in Intel® Media SDK" page, simply enter your email address and click Submit. In your web browser, you will be redirected to a registration page - but you can ignore this step (i.e. close your web browser) since you will have already been sent an email from Intel with a download link for the Media SDK .
