Amazon has confirmed that Mezzmo Android v1.1 has been published on Amazon App store - but Amazon did not approve the app for their new Fire TV or Fire Stick devices. Apparently these new devices require some special app coding to be approved . We'll need to do some follow-up with Amazon tech staff regarding what's required on our part. So for the moment, Mezzmo Android v1.1 will only be available on Amazon App store for Kindles, etc. We'll post back here when we have completed the Fire TV and Fire Stick approval.

Sorry - we cannot give you a definite release date yet. We are looking at the issues now. In short, Amazon Fire TV and Fire Stick devices require navigation / control of Android apps (like Mezzmo Android) through their gamepad or remote control - as compared to touch navigation for Android tablets and smartphones. There's a few areas in the Mezzmo Android app where gamepad / remote control navigation does not quite work, so we're looking into it now. We'd appreciate it if you email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com to assist testing on your Fire TV / Fire Stick.

Is there a Device Profile for the Amazon Fire TV ?
Using the Kindle Fire just gives a "Cannot Play this media" error, even with a pre-transcoded file.

If it is an audio file you should use the Conceiva Mezzmo (Android) profile. If this is a video file then it depends upon the app your are using on the Fire TV to play the file, can you please tell us the name of the app?

Please post the FFmpeg information for one of the files you are trying to play. Right-click on the file in Mezzmo (Windows) and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'.

Thanks. Mezzmo Android app has a built-in music player and photo viewer, so that's why these files work fine. For video files, when you select to play a video in Mezzmo Android app, you will be prompted what app you would like to play the video in. You cannot choose Mezzmo Android, since it has no video playback features. For Android devices, we recommend MX Player app since it has good format support and good playback features. If this is not available (yet) from Amazon App store for Fire TV devices, then you will need to download a few video apps onto your Fire TV and try them until you find one that can play your videos. Let us know what you find so it assists other Fire TV owners.

I have tried a couple of Apps to see if they can be used as players for Mezzmo, with little success.
The nearest I have come is with Vimu Player, but that will not play from the Mezzmo App, even though it shows in the "Complete Action Using" step.
I did once get the Vimu App on its own, to play a pre-transcoded file, but even that seems to not work any more. It would never play a file with transcoding on the fly, but seemed to work after it's done.
If the file is a MP4, then you can pick "com.amazon.bueller.photos" to play it but as 99% of my rips are full DVD VOB's that doesn't work.

To sum up, nothing really works.... Vimu did work a couple of times as a stand alone player, but nothing with Mezzmo as the front end.

My server is 2012 essentials with a Xeon E3-1230 V3 processor with 16G RAM on a Supermicro motherboard, so plenty of power to transcode on the fly....
