    Default Samsung D Profile

Hi, not sure if this has been asked before so apologies if it has already been covered elsewhere.

I have recently purchased the Samsung LE32D550 and I am having stuttering issues with Mezzmo. I also have a Samsung C Series Plasma but that is working perfectly. When a movie or such is started the sound will stutter for 10-20 secs and then settle but then later in the movie similar stutters happen, this also happens when using the skip button etc. The TV is plugged into a Gig network and the PC is more than man enough to handle Mezzmo (and as stated earlier, the same files play glitch-free on the C Series)

So i guess my questions are:-

a is there a newer profile/patch for the D series?
b has anyone else experienced the same issue ( a friend of mine also has a D series samsung on a gig network and has the same issues as me)

An annoying trait of this TV series is that Mezzmo auto detects it and sets the profile as D. In order to test 'alternative' profiles I had to remove the D profile altogether as it always changed the settings back automatically when the TV connected. (I have since put the profile back so all is as it should be!)

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

    B

Are the stuttering files being transcoded while streaming? Check the Transcoding pane and see if there's anything in it.

To change the device profile you don't need to remove it - just go the Media Devices dialog, select your device, click the Edit button and then select a profile from the drop-down list and click OK to apply. That should stick, unless your TV is changing the IP address all the time.

Also, can you please right-click on one of the stuttering files in Mezzmo and post the output of the "Get FFmpeg Information" command here.

To know what's happening for sure, it would help if I could see some logs. So, please enable logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging) then try playing one of the stuttering files for a few seconds (or until it starts to stutter) and once that happens, stop the server and send the logs to support.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply

I don't believe the file is the issue as the affected files work fine on my C class Samsung Plasma. As for the profile auto changing, every time the TV connects to the server it changes the profile back to D, so for example, if I set it as any other profile, once i connect to Mezzmo from TV it automatically sets itself back to a D class. The IP on the TV can be set to DHCP or Fixed and this occurs.

It basically just seems like the settings aren't right for the D class but it's not possible to change them..!!?!?

Additionally, no transcoding occur when playing as the TV can play .mkv files natively.

    Cheers

    B

Different TVs can handle files differently, so if it plays on one, it doesn't mean it'll play on another. In any case, please send in the logs and I'll investigate.

Settings are controlled via device profiles and they can be adjusted, just not via the GUI.

Both of those threads are old, so it doesn't necessarily mean it's the same issue, but it could be.

In the first thread I asked you to try the Samsung's server - did you try it and if you did, what was the result?

Yes I did try Samsungs server and they played great no stuttering. Yes I know threads are old but my problem still exists. I check the forum on a regular basis hoping for a resolution.

Ok, if the files play using Samsung's server, then they should play the same with Mezzmo. Sorry, I didn't realize the problem still existed for you, since those threads ended with some sort of a result and there was no further feedback from you.

Try turning transcoding off and see if they play. If that doesn't help, then we'll need some logs, so please send in logs to support, trying to play one of the stuttering files (just play it for a few seconds) and we should be able to sort it out.

I have discovered the same problem with some of my video files.
The file has a very high bit rate.
    Video 11600 khz Audio 448khz
After converting to a slower bit rate.
    Video 8500 khz Audio 384khz
    It playes without error.
