Thread: Constant media server disconnects with samsung tv after 3.3.1.0 update.

  1. #1

Default Constant media server disconnects with samsung tv after 3.3.1.0 update.

So whenever i am watching anything, the playback stutters occasionally, and the media server has been disconnecting very often. It doesn't matter whether I use the DLNA connection through the tv, or if I use my PS3 to connect. I have tried different videos and still the same results. I have tried restarting my computer, and resetting the modem/router, but neither has helped.

I would like to try rolling back the mezzmo install to the previous version.

Attached are the mezzmo log files during this event. I am unable to attach the mezzmo media server log due to its compressed size I think. The file size as a .rar is 1.2 megs and this forum will not allow me to attach it. Please provide an email and I will gladly forward it from my gmail account.

    *edit*
I have forwarded the mezzmo media server log to support@conceiva.com with reference to this post.
    Please help!

Thanks for the logs. They show that Mezzmo server streamed your MKV file directly to your Samsung TV and after streaming ~600MB of the 4GB MKV file, your TV aborts streaming suddenly.

How is your TV or PS3 connected to your computer? Wireless? That could be the cause of the stuttering/stopping. If your TV cannot get enough video data for real time playback, then it may stutter and can abort playback. If possible, try using an Ethernet cable & see if the problem persists.

Also, please post the FFmpeg information on the MKV video. Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information.

Yes the connection is wireless. I will try connecting it directly tonight and post my results. Here is the ffmpeg information you requested.

Well, new problem is that I hooked up the tv to the router using an ethernet cable, and while the tv is connected to the network and can access the internet just fine, it seems that it will not detect mezzmo. I have tried restarting the mezzmo server, resetting the router, but it will not show up in wired mode.

Check the TV's network settings. Your TV may still be in wireless mode. Also, in Mezzmo, go to the Media Devices dialog and delete your device from the list. Restart your Mezzmo server and see if your device gets re-listed in the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo & is using your wired or wireless IP address (i.e. the IP address that is listed in the network settings on your TV).

Verified that the TV is in wired mode. Tested internet connection and it is working fine on the TV. Cleared the devices list in mezzmo and restarted the server. Still no mezzmo showing up on the TV in wired mode, only pops up in wireless.

Just uninstalled tversity, then uninstalled mezzmo, restarted computer, reinstalled mezzmo, shut off tv, reset router/modem, and checked "allow new devices" in media devices window. Awaiting connection from Mezzmo to Tv via ethernet connected network...

OK - it's likely something on your home network is blocking DLNA communication. The likely culprits are your router's settings or your firewall. See this FAQ for a list of possible reasons for no communication between your device and Mezzmo server - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...ur-DLNA-device. Let us know how you go.

Success. Mezzmo has connected to my TV via wired connection through the router. Attempting to play video with logging enabled to determine if cause of original problem is persisting after network connection change.

Just watched an entire 1080p blu-ray stream without any interruptions. I think you have solved my problem Paul. Thank you for your efforts.

I think the solution was to remove tversity and reinstall mezzmo. After some side research I noticed that a secondary DLNA service may have been causing the trouble. Hopefully this problem is resolved. I will post tomorrow night if the problem continues.

    Thanks again Paul!
