Thread: Mezzmo not loading with Windows

  1. #1

Default Mezzmo not loading with Windows

I have Mezzmo configured to load with Windows.

The Mezzmo services do load and start, but the Mezzmo program does not, and I have to start it manually to use DLNA.

Is this a Windows 8/8.1 issue or do I have something weird going on?

    Thanks!

There are two programs installed when you install Mezzmo - (i) the Mezzmo server (MezzmoMediaServer.exe, a Windows service), which is used to stream video, music and photos to your devices, and (ii) the Mezzmo application (Mezzmo.exe, a Windows application), which is used to manage your Mezzmo library. In order to stream files to your devices, you only need to have Mezzmo server running when you start your computer. You can set this up in the 'Media Server Settings' dialog in Mezzmo. You do not need Mezzmo application running when you start your computer, and only need to run it when you wish to manage or maintain your Mezzmo library.

Paul, my TVs cannot see the Mezzmo server until I run the Mezzmo Windows application.

And I have set this up in 'Media Server Settings'

Task Manager shows Mezzmo Service and Mezzmo Media Services running, and in Processes Mezzmo Media Server (32 bit) (sub process Mezzmo Media Server) and a second time Mezzmo Media Server (32 bit) (sub process Mezzmo)appear. TVs can't see Mezzmo, open the Mezzmo application & all is good.

I'll play around with this a bit and get back in a couple of days, as I am not experiencing what you say I should and I want to ensure I am set up properly after the Windows 8.1 update, and considering I could not get the TVs to see Mezzmo at all for 6 months until I upgraded to Win 8.1.

    Thanks, Paul.

That sounds strange. Please take a screenshot of the Media Server Settings dialog and email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. Also, turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...nostic-logging). Reboot your computer as you normally do. After a few minutes, run Mezzmo and stop your Mezzmo server (if running) and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

It turns out there was 2 Mezzmo devices on the computer & it took a very long time to load, and both did load after 5 minutes or so. I just didn't wait long enough.

I removed one device & all seems good now.

    Thanks, Paul.
