That did the trick! The funny thing is, I looked at that when I was setting it up for logging and thought to myself "Shouldn't the Chromecast be in this list?" But when I turned on 'Allow new devices' and hit refresh, it didn't show up. I didn't realize I had to restart the media server to get it to pop up.

At any rate, it all seems to work now. I still get the "chromecast failure 2131230789 code 1" at the bottom, but even as its showing that on the app, I can see it loading the video on the TV. I'm not sure why it does that, but I can live with it Thanks again, I'l be purchasing the full version first thing tomorrow!
