Glad you worked it out. Just to correct your posts, the display title syntax should be %TITLE% (%YEAR%).

Just noticed mine doing the same
If I have Video set to %TITLE%
and
TV Series set to
%FILECOUNTER%: %SERIES%: S%SEASON% E%EPISODE%: %TITLE%: %RELEASEDATE%
all my items with category TV Show only show the title
Should what is set under TV Show overwrite what is set for Video?, this seems to be how it works for Movies
If I put
%FILECOUNTER%: %SERIES%: S%SEASON% E%EPISODE%: %TITLE%: %RELEASEDATE%
in the Video section then all works
It looks like the TV Series display title is being ignored and they are just using what is set under the generic Video option
I don't think it is being ignored. It may be being overridden by your playlist's own display titles. Right-click on the playlist and click Properties. On the Playlist Properties, click 'Display Titles' and check if there are display titles listed there that are different to the global display titles you have set. If you want them to be the same as your global display titles, then click Default Settings & click OK.
If still no success, then check that your video is actually a TV show. Right-click on the video and click Properties. Check that the Category is "TV show" - since that is what Mezzmo uses to decide if the TV series display titles should be applied to it, otherwise the Video display titles are applied.

This could be the same bug I am currently encountering.
It's a two-part problem. First, I have the possible categories "TV show", "Movie", and "TV-Show" for my video files. The hyphen makes a difference and only the variant without the hyphen results in Mezzmo treating it as tv series. I have at least one series that got assigned the wrong category, e.g., "Dexter" was marked as "TV-Show" instead of "TV show". The rest of the metadata was fetched correctly.
Second, the display title delivered to the device is not the display title shown in Mezzmo. I added to each display title category its name as prefix to check what's going on. In Mezzmo it was correctly assigned the tv series display title, while on my devices it would show the video display title. Again this is dependent on "TV show" vs. "TV-Show". If I set it to the "wrong" version "TV-Show", it will display the series display title on my devices, but I can only access it via the folders menu and it doesn't appear under the series folder.

If you using Mezzmo in English language (via the View/Language menu item), then the category name for TV shows is "TV show". Other languages will use different term for "TV show" based on their language. For example, German language uses "TV-Show".
To change files that may have "TV-Show" to the term used in English language Mezzmo, you can group select the files in Mezzmo that have "TV-Show" (using the SHIFT or CTRL keys or via mouse rubberbanding) and right-click on one of them and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, change the Category to "TV show" and click OK. These files should be TV shows now and use the display titles for TV shows.
Regarding your display titles, see this FAQ how to use them - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread...ur-media-files. One common mistake is to assign a certain display title globally for all your files using the Options dialog (General page), but forget that you may have display titles defined for specific playlists or folders in your Mezzmo library. To check this, right-click on the playlist / folder and click Properties. On the Playlist / Folder Properties dialog, click the Display Titles button to check the display titles defined for the playlist / folder.
